seplute needed a trophy for her citizen science game, Stall Catchers, to award  to a school in Idaho (US), and together with her team decided to custom-build it at Technarium (instead of buying one of those tacky “science” trophies available online).

For this MN adapted the design of last year’s Science Hack Day Vilnius prizes & milled it with his hand-made CNC mill:

The trophy has since traveled to Ithaca (NY), and from there to Boise (ID) in USA, where it was presented to Lake Hazel Middle School students as the first-ever citizen science award given to a school.

Since then, the story was covered by ABC TV network, Discover Magazine & PLoS Blogs, The Daily Telescope and elsewhere.

The designs are all open source, and are available here.
