Tonight we tried distilling hydrosol (flower water, etc.) from some tomatoes growing in the greenhouse. We didn’t end up using the Soxhlet extractor after all, because it had experienced some damage – and used same old water distillation method.

The silicon tubes circulated cold water to the condenser.

Sand bath was an improvement!

We ended up with a some liquid that smelled like boiled tomato leaves. Not exactly something useful – probably we should have used something more conventional. But that’s just a test.
