Rees wanted to make a baking steel – a thick plate of food grade steel great for baking pizzas or bread. opit’s done it before, the hard way, so this time less manual labour was involved.

pwf has ordered two pieces of 12mm steel, cut to Rees oven’s size. Then we had the grease channels routed on one side.

Then Rees took an angle grinder and cleaned away the millscale from all sides:

The pizza was really good.
