There is a cool trick to get more resolution out of your analog-to-digital converter. It’s called oversampling and decimation. But if your sampled signal is very clean, you will not get much of a benefit unless you artificially add noise to your signal. Sounds counterintuitive, but here are some pictures to prove:

Notice the steps in the blue curve, this is what I get when just reading my signal:

Now notice the difference with ~2LSB peak-to-peak triangle wave added to the signal:
